Golf Business Community reaches 15000 members
September 30, 2011

The Golf Business Community (www.golfbusinesscommunity.com) has confirmed its ever-growing influence within the sport’s industry by hitting a significant milestone since its launch in March 2010.

The online platform, focused on the golf course, resort and residential development business, has attracted 15,000 members from 170 countries since its inception, resulting in thousands of visits to the website from all over the world every week. Members of the Golf Business Community cover the entire spectrum of the golf industry globally, from golf course operators through real estate developers to course suppliers and representatives of golf bodies.

The growing importance of the GBC has also been recognized by 20 of golf’s leading businesses who have joined forces with KPMG, the founder of this initiative. Patrons and sponsors of the online community include Ernie Els Design, Greg Norman Golf Course Design, Harradine Golf, Faldo Design, Syngenta and Troon Golf, among others.

Following in the footsteps of KPMG’s annual Golf Business Forum, the website has become a premium source of market intelligence and thought leadership, featuring video interviews with some of the most influential developers in global golf, as well as expert analysis and industry research, which is free to download. The GBC Weekly News Alert is distributed to 35,000 golf and real estate stakeholders, featuring a quality selection of industry news.

Andrea Sartori, head of KPMG’s Golf Advisory Practice in EMA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), said: "The Golf Business Community has grown rapidly in terms of both size and reputation inside just 18 months. A multitude of insightful news, content, expert knowledge and comment have positioned the GBC website as the place for investors, developers, operators and other industry professionals to gather the information they need to make informed decisions for their businesses. Our most popular research studies, the Golf Participation in Europe and the Golf Travel Insights, as well as the Blueprint for Successful Golf Course Development, have been downloaded by over 2,000 readers each. In this respect we have achieved our objective to make this online platform a virtual Golf Business Forum that’s open 24 hours to a wider audience, every day of the year."

Andrea Sartori added: "We welcome the support and involvement of the GBC’s many high-profile partners and sponsors. Their contribution will allow us to supply the market with even more thought leadership in 2012, including KPMG’s upcoming reports: the Golf Course Development Trends and the Round and Revenue Trends in EMA, together with a number of new Country Snapshot studies."
