New golf coaching course for volunteers
October 11, 2011

A new course to help volunteers train the next generation of golfers is being held in Shropshire next month.

The two-day course will give anyone taking part a PGA level one qualification, which will allow them to assist more qualified coaches in delivering golf coaching sessions for beginners.

The course takes place on Saturday and Sunday, November 19/20, at The Shropshire Golf Centre and costs £288. A Home Study Workbook is provided ahead of the course, which takes around five weeks to complete in preparation for the two-day practical course.

For applications and further information contact Mark Taylor, county development officer for the Shropshire and Herefordshire County Golf Partnership, by emailing mark.taylor@02.co.uk

The closing date for applications is Friday, October 14. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

The Shropshire and Herefordshire Golf Partnership is a collaboration of the major stakeholders in golf, including the English Golf Union, The English Women's Golf Association, the PGA, the Golf Foundation and Sport England.

In Shropshire and Herefordshire the partnership is supported by the Shropshire and Herefordshire Union of Golf Clubs, Shropshire County Ladies' Golf Association and the Shropshire and Herefordshire Professional Golfers Association.
