April 27, 2011

Two's company when it comes to a new scheme to encourage more people in the Oswestry area to take up golf.

Oswestry Golf Club is offering four one-hour coaching sessions to couples - whether they be husband and wife, partners, family relations or just friends - for free.

"This is a great opportunity for people who want to try playing golf to come along and give it a go with their partner, family member or friend," said head professional Jason Davies, who is also head coach for the Shropshire and Herefordshire County Golf Partnership County Academy programme. "It's nice to try something new in the company of someone you know."

The four sessions take place in May - each Tuesday from May 3, between 6 and 7pm - at the club's Aston Park course.

The scheme is aimed at people of all ages who are interested in golf, but are not yet members of a club.
