Golf rules evening in Shrewsbury
July 4, 2011

Think you know the rules of golf - then now you can put yourself to the test.

The Shropshire and Herefordshire County Golf Partnership has organised a special rules evening.

Expert advice will be on offer - as well as a barbecue - at Shrewsbury Golf Club on Wednesday, July 13th (7pm-9pm).

Says Mark Taylor, the partnership's county golf development officer: "Golf has a long tradition of its players being self-governing when it comes to the rules out on the course.

"But this is an ideal chance for anyone who plays the game or is involved in running competitions at their club to get expert advice on what the rules mean and how they should be interpreted.

"There will be plenty of examples of everyday occurrences on the golf course and what the rules mean in those situations."

Tickets are £7.50 and anyone interested should register by emailing mark.taylor72@o2.co.uk

The Shropshire and Herefordshire Golf Partnership is a collaboration of the major stakeholders in golf, including the English Golf Union, The English Women's Golf Association, the PGA, the Golf Foundation and Sport England.

In Shropshire and Herefordshire the partnership is supported by the Shropshire and Herefordshire Union of Golf Clubs, Shropshire County Ladies' Golf Association and the Shropshire and Herefordshire Professional Golfers Association.
