Golf Club Grado offering winter golf packages
October 25, 2011

As the golf season draws to a close in northern Europe golfers fancying a weekend golf break or families looking for a relaxing week with some sun need look no further than Golf Club Grado in north eastern Italy which has launched two new winter packages.

Valid until the end of March 2012 the Short Golf Break package includes three nights with breakfast in Grado´s Marina Suites overlooking the resort´s private yacht harbour, two rounds on Grado´s Championship Golf Course, one welcome dinner and one tasting menu dinner at Al Casone gourmet restaurant. The price per person for a double room starts at GBP 245.

The Winter Golf Break package offers seven nights including breakfast in Grado´s Marina Suites, five rounds on Grado´s Championship Golf Course and one welcome dinner and one tasting menu dinner at Al Casone. The price per person for a double room starts at GBP 530.

Ivan Marzola, the owner of Grado Golf Club and the Tenuta Primero Resort said, "Grado is an ideal place to go to for a winter golfing or family break. Unlike in Spain the winter months are not our highest season so we are able to offer competitive prices for golfers and families looking to escape the winter darkness. The resort is a family-run business which provides great golf, excellent accommodation and fine dining as well as a warm welcome for all our guests. It is a special place to enjoy a winter holiday."

Located less than two hours' drive from the magnificent city of Venice, Grado enjoys a mild climate ideal for playing golf all year round.

The Grado Golf Course meanders between the Laguna di Grado and the Adriatic Sea. The 6650 yard, par 72 championship course is true risk and reward test of golf. Making the most of its stunning location it brings water into play almost on every hole. The contoured greens feature some tricky pin positions and the sea breeze often adds to the challenge. Grado´s stunning par 3 first hole with an island green has led the course to be dubbed by the media as the "European Sawgrass."

The Tenuta Primero resort boasts a private marina which can accommodate yachts of up to 25m in length, a private beach and facilities such as a heated swimming pool, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts and a selection of restaurants and bars. Among the many delights of the resort is also the gourmet restaurant Al Casone which offers authentic Italian fine dining experience ranging among the most highly regarded ones in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.

Grado can be easily reached from the UK with a selection of direct flights from the larger UK cities to Venice or Trieste.
