European No.1 visits Legends Golf
June 2, 2011

History-maker Lee-Anne Pace's feet will barely have time to touch ground in 2011.

But the first ever South African to be crowned the women's European No 1 last year had heard so much about Legend Golf & Safari Resort at the heart of the Big 5 Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg area of Limpopo, that she made time to fit a visit to the five-star leisure venue into her hectic schedule.

Golfer Lee-Anne, from Mossel Bay , will compete in a whopping 26 tournaments this year after scooping the Ladies European Tour's Henderson Money List in 2010 and achieving five tournament victories in five months. And her sights are set firmly on winning a Major.

But a trip to the resort and the award-winning Signature Course - named the World's Best Golf Course in the recent World Property Awards - was also a must-do for the exceptional player.

"Everyone I speak to basically raves about Legend Golf & Safari Resort," says Lee-Anne. "Everyone says it's amazing; a super place and a super golf course - and they all can't wait to come back.

"The Signature Course is making a real impression on golfers and now I can see why. It's an amazing concept that gives you a little bit of diversity on each hole."

Lee-Anne also enjoyed plenty of relaxation time at the resort at the heart of the Big 5 Entabeni Safari Conservancy, where lions, rhino and elephants roam wild and free.

"I love the concept of mixing golf with safari so I couldn't resist going out on a game drive," says Lee-Anne. "Just to be here is amazing. It's a lovely, peaceful place."

Lee-Anne, like her fellow golfers, is already looking forward to her next visit - and taking the challenge of the golf's most talked about Par 3, the Extreme 19 th : "What a super idea. I feel like everyone has done it except me. I can't wait to play."

With her 2011 campaign now underway, Lee-Anne will again be travelling the world in her bid to the best: "Last year has given me greater confidence. It's important to believe in yourself.

"I'm really looking forward to this year; to playing a bit better nad yes, I will be putting more pressure on myself. I'm definitely going for a Major and the great thing is that I've already qualified for all the major tournaments.

"But I'll be taking small steps towards reaching those bigger goals so that I don't lose track of what I want to do."
