Macdonald Hotels success in golf industry awards

59Club, the independent golf analysis business that measures service at most of the leading golf venues in the country, has just hosted its first Award ceremony to recognise excellence within golf.

The ceremony was attended by the leading golf resorts and golf hotel groups in the country.  The venues within the 59club scheme receive mystery call and visits six times per year throughout the seasons ensuring that minimum standards are maintained across the entire year.

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts picked up two awards - 'The Most Improved Golf Operation Team 2010' went to Macdonald Portal and 'The Most Picturesque Course' went to Macdonald Spey Valley in recognition of its stunning Highlands surroundings.  The awards are testament to the development of the hotel's emerging golf brand, headed by Jeanette Jones, Macdonald's Managing Director for Golf, Leisure & Spa.

Jeanette Jones commented "The 59club awards identify the leading golf hotel groups in the country and I'm delighted that Macdonald Hotels & Resorts has been recognised for consistent high standards of service delivery across our six golf venues."

The Macdonald Golf brand consists of six UK golf hotels, in addition to four Spanish resorts in the Costa del Sol.  The group is launching an exciting and diverse product range for 2011, including accessible 'TryME' memberships and set-price 4-star golf breaks packages starting at just £85.

Mark Reed, Director of 59club added "We rewarded individual excellence, however the granting of the first ever 4star golf service awards is a huge milestone in the golf industry, for the first time golf venues can categorically state, and independently prove that they can deliver excellent service to match their golf course.

Robert Maxfield, Commercial and Property Director at the PGA, when presenting the awards went on to say "The eight venues that achieved this standard really work hard at their golf customer service and deserve the recognition this award will give them."

The 59club scheme is designed to work at every type of golf venue, be it resort, pay and play or private and simply ensures that the customers of those venues, be they visitors or the venues members really receive the consistent high service they deserve. 59club will be the industry standard for measuring service is open for all golf venues to join.
