Nairn Golf Club tees up year of celebration
Date

Nairn Golf Club has secured the services of a leading Scottish golf PR agency to help raise its profile in the run-up to the Curtis Cup and its 125th anniversary which will both take place in 2012. As part of the deal, The Word Association will provide media support, deliver promotional campaigns and develop the club's marketing collateral.

According to Graeme Govan, Nairn's Marketing Convenor, the appointment marks the start of an exciting period for the club. "Golf in the north of Scotland is enjoying something of a resurgence, and Nairn Golf Club is very much at the heart of it," he noted. "The Curtis Cup and our 125th anniversary next year means 2012 will be a vintage year for the club. Having The Word Association on board will help us make the most of these opportunities."

The Fife-based PR agency has built a reputation for developing close working ties with its many clients, which include golf resorts, trade bodies and golf course architects. With a background in journalism and international marketing, the agency provides a full range of tailored services, such as writing and distributing press releases, organising press visits and co-ordinating the design and production of marketing materials.

"The team at The Word Association bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that can assist Nairn in a number of departments," noted Govan. "Nairn Golf Club has, after all, a proud heritage to look after, and we expect the very best from all our suppliers. The Word Association will be no different."

With clients like Golf Tourism Scotland , Stayinstandrews and Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course in Aberdeenshire, The Word Association is accustomed to meeting the expectations of some of Scotland 's premier golf properties, as the company's senior partner pointed out.

"We were thrilled to secure the Nairn account," commented Yvonne Alexander. "Nairn is a club with an extraordinary history and a cracking course to boot, but it also has an exciting future ahead of it with the Curtis Cup and its 125th anniversary just around the corner. We understand the significance of what lies ahead and are really looking forward to raising the club's profile."
