Simon Dyson sees Red on the greens at Wentworth

Nike Tour Staff athlete Simon Dyson will be showing his true colours when he tees it up at Wentworth for this week's BMW PGA Championship, after it was revealed that the football-loving tour pro from Yorkshire will be sporting kit featuring branding belonging to his beloved Manchester United.
The 33-year-old four-time European Tour winner will be wearing the new outfit, which has been launched by Nike Golf to celebrate its sponsorship of football teams across Europe, on one of the opening two days at the Wentworth showpiece event, which will coincide perfectly with his team's appearance in Europe's Final on Saturday where Manchester United take on FC Barcelona in London.

"I'm not sure where I'll be watching the match yet, but I'm hoping I'll be off the course in plenty of time to see the kick-off, whether it be in the clubhouse or whichever bar we end up in," says Dyson, whose uncle played for Spurs. "We're riding high after sealing the Premiership title last weekend and I'm confident we can get the result. While I would love a late tee time on Saturday as that will mean I'm playing well, I hope to have time to get to watch the match."

Speaking about the new logoed outfit, Dyson added: "I love the idea of being able to show off your sporting allegiances in other contexts but I'm sure I'm going to get a bit of stick from some of the other players on Tour. I've supported United since I was a boy, so I feel I've earned the right to wear the crest."
Nike, which sponsors a number of Europe's leading football teams, including Manchester United's Champions League rivals Barcelona, as well as Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan and Celtic will be bringing out a range of football team-logoed golf gear later this Autumn, featuring shoes, polo shirts and golf bags.
Dyson will be wearing a pair of Manchester United-logoed Nike Golf Lunar Control golf shoes and a logoed Dri-Fit Tech colour block polo shirt, while the logoed gear also includes a new lightweight Nike Collegiate Carry Bag emblazoned with the Premiership-winning team's famous club crest.
Fellow Nike Golf athlete Francesco Molinari is going to match Dyson's get-up at next month's Italian Open, where he will be wearing Nike Golf apparel and shoes featuring his favoured Inter Milan's logo, while it is understood that all of the football squads involved will be wearing the logoed product whenever they take to the fairways.
The footwear and bag goes on sale in pro shops and high street retailers from November, whilst the apparel will only be sold at football club stores and online channels including  in the initial launch phase.
