Masters takes Charl Schwartzel to World No. 11
April 11, 2011

Charl Schwartzel won the Masters Tournament at Augusta by two strokes from Adam Scott and Jason Day, with Geoff Ogilvy, Tiger Woods and Luke Donald tied for fourth two shots further back. Schwartzel's round started in incredible fashion with a chip-in birdie on the first and a holed wedge for eagle on the 3rd. He finished in spectacular style as well with four straight birdies for a round of 66 and a 14-under-par total of 274. The stunning victory lifts Schwartzel from 29th to a career high of 11th in the Official World Golf Ranking, with England’s Luke Donald moving up to World Number Three after chipping in on the final hole for a share of fourth place. Tiger Woods moves two places back up the Ranking to fifth.

The Panasonic Open (India) on the Asian Tour was won by India’s Anirban Lahiri who defeated Singapore’s Mardan Mamat and compatriot Manav Jaini in a three-way play-off after the trio had ended regulation play on 13-under-par 275 total. Lahiri jumps to World Number 227.
