May 9, 2011

Lucas Glover beat Jonathan Byrd in a play-off to claim victory in the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow in Charlotte. Glover scored a par-four on the only extra hole needed to win his first tournament since his 2009 US Open triumph. The players tied on 15 under par with Glover making four birdies and an eagle in the 69 to tie overnight leader Byrd who shot a 72. Glover climbs back into the World Top 50 with a 61 place jump to World Number 49.
