O'Hair and Noren climb to 60th and 70th in the world
July 25, 2011

Sean O'Hair won the RBC Canadian Open after beating Kris Blanks at the first play-off hole at Shaughnessy G&CC, Vancouver, B.C. Canada. The pair had both finished on four under with a bogey on the replayed 18th hole proving enough for O'Hair to emerge victorious. Argentina's Andres Romero finished one shot back after a closing bogey denied him a spot in the play-off, with 2006 US Open winner Geoff Ogilvy and home challenger Adam Hadwin on two under. O'Hair's win takes him to World Number 60, a jump of 54 positions.

Alexander Noren won the Nordea Masters by seven shots on a windy and difficult day in Stockholm, coasting home with a 77 after taking an 11-shot lead into the final round. It was his third European Tour victory and second of the season, after winning the Wales Open in June. Second place went to Richard Finch with a superb closing 69, the only player to break par on the last day. Noren rises 22 spots to world no. 70, while Finch climbs to world no. 186.

This week's other winners were Kim Kyung-Tae at the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup on the Japan Golf Tour, Joonas Granberg at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters on the Asian Tour, Harris English at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational on the Nationwide Tour and Benjamin Hebert at the English Challenge on the Challenge Tour.
