PGA Catalunya in Europe's Top 100 list
October 5, 2011

PGA Catalunya Resort , already acclaimed as a World Top 100 Golf Course by  Golf World  - one of only two Spanish courses to make the rankings - has been further decorated by the influential publication in its recent Continental European Top 100 Courses 2011-2012 listing.

Golf World  ranked PGA Catalunya's Stadium Course eighth, one of only two Spanish courses in the top 10, and just behind Valderrama whose ranking slipped three places to number six.

The 2011-2012 rankings of the Top 100 Courses in continental Europe, published this month, was compiled based on views from Tour players, influential journalists and golf officials across Europe.

Commenting on the achievement, David Plana, PGA Catalunya Resort Corporate Director and CFO, said: "PGA Catalunya continues to make headlines around the world as a must-play course that offers a very unique experience to its visitors.

"We are always very grateful for any accolades we receive and this latest  Golf World  ranking is a strong endorsement of PGA Catalunya's appeal to professionals, amateurs and all visitors from around the globe."

"To be able to maintain our single-figure position in the rankings of  Golf World 's Continental European courses - not to mention in its World Top 100 Courses - is no mean feat," added Miguel Girbes, PGA Catalunya Resort Golf Manager. "Today's PGA Catalunya Resort is the culmination of over 20 years' of dedication and commitment to deliver on the vision of its founders - to bring to market a masterpiece created stroke by stroke by Spanish golf legend Angel Gallardo and Ryder Cup star Neil Coles.

"The investment in our two championship courses and practice facilities continues to provide every visitor with an unforgettable and compelling experience at our world-class golfing destination. This is a key focus for everyone at PGA Catalunya Resort," continued Miguel Girbes. "And to be recognised amongst Europe's best is truly an honour."

PGA Catalunya Resort - a two-time Spanish Open host - has once again been selected as the venue for this season's European Tour's Qualifying School Final Stage - the fourth successive year it has hosted the event. Both the popular Tour Course and Stadium Course will host the six-round tournament from December 10-15.
