Golfers in the betting for Personality of the Year
December 20, 2011

12.2% of those betting with William Hill on the outcome of this year's BBC TV Sports' Personality of the Year have supported cyclist Mark Cavendish, making him the most popular choice - but he is only a narrow leader, with 11.5% opting for Rory McIlroy. 'The number of bets placed is much closer in Cav's favour than the odds would suggest' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, with Hills currently making Cavendish 1/3 favourite (1/33 to finish in first three) while McIlroy is 12/1 joint third favourite, 13/8 for a top three placing.
