Bookies happy with Bubba Watson win
April 12, 2012

Bubba Watsons was a pre-tournament 40/1 outsider  with William Hill and his victory was great news for the bookies after a number of well fancied runners failed to deliver at the tournament. Bubba is now a 33/1 shot to win the Open Championship later this year for which Tiger Woods is the 6/1 favourite.

"Bubba was a fantastic result for the bookies, although he is a very fine golfer, not many believed that his game could hold up at  Augusta for the full four days," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Tiger was particularly disappointing this week and he is now 1/4 to fail to win a major in 2012, Rory Mcllroy is also a 1/4 shot to fail to win a major this year. Luke Donald is 1/12 to fail, with Westwood 1/16.

"Westwood, Wood, Mcllroy & Donald are the best backed players at every major, next time one wins we are likely to be on the end of a Million pound payout," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
