Get in to golf at Bourne Golf Club
February 6, 2012

Families in Bourne are being encouraged to 'Get into Golf' next week during the February half term with free taster sessions at Bourne Golf Club.

Get into Golf family sessions will be held at the golf club from Monday 13th - Friday 17th February, between 9.00am and 9.00pm.

PGA Professional Darren Game is offering a free one hour session indoors, with all equipment provided by the club.

Darren said: "Golf is one of very few sports that everyone can participate in together regardless of ability, age and gender. There are not many Mums I know who want to get muddy playing rugby or football with their sons, but many Mums and Sons happily play golf together. Likewise daughters can participate with their Dads... and usually end up winning!"

Get into Golf is an initiative developed by Lincolnshire Golf Partnership and supported by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership and local golf clubs.

Shona Dickson, County Development Officer at Lincolnshire Golf Partnership, said: "Get into Golf is all about encouraging people of all ages to take part in golf in Lincolnshire. I think it's excellent that Bourne Golf Club are offering these sessions for free during half-term week; I hope lots of children in the local area go along and have a go."

Hayley Cook, Communications Officer at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: "We are proud to support the 'Get into Golf' scheme to encourage more people to take part in sport in Lincolnshire. The initiative is open to women and girls, friends and families, juniors and seniors of all ages and abilities. It is a fantastic project and I hope golf clubs across Lincolnshire take advantage of the scheme, as well as individuals and participants who want to take up a new sport."
