Lookout at Hunley - PGA Europro returns
September 11, 2012

For the second year running, Hunley Hotel and Golf Club, Brotton, near Saltburn, will host the last event in the annual PGA Europro Golf Tour, along with some of the most prestigious clubs in Britain and Ireland.

Located on the cliffs overlooking the North Yorkshire coast, the challenging 18 hole, Championship Morgans Course at Hunley was recommended as a high quality course to the PGA in 2009, and its reputation has only continued to grow since.

On 12th - 14th September, Hunley Hotel and Golf Club will see 156 professional golfers take part in the three day event , highlights of which will be broadcast on Sky Sports. The event comes hot on the heals of the launch of the Lookout at Hunley, a friendly and informal brasserie, located within the hotel.

Richard Weeks, Director of Golf at Hunley says: "The PGA Europro was a fantastic success last year, and we are looking forward to welcoming the competitors back. We are expecting a lot of local support over the three days as entry to the competition is free. The PGA Europro has a wonderful reputation for producing extremely talented young players, so it is a tremendous opportunity to watch some of the up and coming players on our doorstep!"

The top five golfers in the PGA Europro Order of Merit are all going to be competing in the event, including Stuart Manley from Wales, Wallace Booth from Scotland and England's Paul Maddy. Previous Europro competitors have included Major Winners, such as Louis Oosthuizen (South Africa), Charl Schwartzel (South Africa) and Ryder Cup Winner Ross Fisher (England).

Karen Green, Hotel Manager adds: "There has been a lot of change at the resort over the past four years and we're really excited to debut our new Lookout Brasserie during the Europro tour.  The menu can be seen on our web page and as an opening offer we are offering 50% off food on Monday 3rd - Wednesday 5th September inclusive."

The Lookout launches a brand new menu on Monday 3rd September, developed and created by Head Chef Lee Holland. Lee comments: "The launch of the new menu couldn't have come at a better time. Local supporters of the Europro event will love the new all day Brasserie concept. The relaxed look and feel of the Lookout is perfect for locals, golfers and hotel guests alike".

Lee and his talented team of chefs are preparing for a busy launch with all bookings made on 3rd - 5th September receiving 50% off food. The hotel will then host a VIP launch event on Thursday 6th September at which many local tourism bodies and food and drink media will be in attendance.

Karen concludes: "There is a real buzz about Hunley and we are looking forward to a busy Autumn especially with the arrival of the Europro Tour next week. Spectator e ntry to the professional tournament is free , so whether you come to watch the pro golfers or to enjoy the new Lookout menu, everyone is welcome.  So come along, sit back and relax whilst admiring some fantastic golf and the stunning views of the North Yorkshire Coast."
