Fixby Challenge - 4-Ball for £100
March 13, 2012

The Fixby Challenge returns to Huddersfield Golf Club, West Yorkshire this year.

The 18 hole individual strokeplay competition will take place at Fixby on Friday 27 th July, a time of year when the championship course - a regular venue for the Yorkshire County Championship - is at its best. And in 2012 the player returning the lowest nett score will be jetting off to Spain for a four-night golfing trip of a lifetime.

The tournament, open to male golfers in the North of England with an official handicap, includes lunch and has an entry-fee of £30 per person. However, those entering during March as a group of four can do so for just £100.

The competition forms part of the Golfdelaluz.com Northern Matchplay Golf Championship and offers a fast-track route for one lucky individual to reach the grand final at the highly acclaimed Arcos Gardens Golf Resort on the Costa de la Luz.

Organiser of the competition, Edward Battye, said, "Fixby doesn't hold a singles open competition so hopefully golfers will see this as an excellent opportunity to play one of the best courses in Yorkshire under tournament conditions."

He added, "There's a huge prize up for grabs and last year the winning score was a level par round of 71, so anybody playing to their handicap on the day has a real chance."
