Gary Player presents new Lord Taveners minibus
July 24, 2012

Nine-time major championship winner, Gary Player, was on hand at Wentworth Golf Club today (23 July) to present a new specially-adapted Lord’s Taverners wheelchair-accessible minibus to disabled youngsters from Glasshouse College in Stourbridge.

Glasshouse College is an independent specialist further education college run by Ruskin Mill Trust. It provides practical skill therapeutic education for young people aged 16-25 years with a range of learning difficulties.
The new 16-seat minibus from The Lord’s Taverners, costing £48,000, will change the lives of the Glasshouse youngsters, enabling them to go on cultural trips and activities that they would not otherwise been able to experience.

Glasshouse College’s new minibus has been made possible thanks to support from The Gary Player Foundation, which raised funds for the minibus at the 2011 Gary Player Invitational Charity golf event.
Gary Player said: "The Gary Player Foundation is delighted to be able to support The Lord's Taverners and I hope this new specially adapted wheelchair minibus will make it easier for more young people to get involved in the activities they enjoy."

The Lord’s Taverners, the official charity of recreational cricket and one of the UK’s leading youth sports and disability charities, will donate over £3 million this year to help give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance. The Lord’s Taverners donates nearly one minibus every 10 days to organisations such as Glasshouse College.
