Enjoy a summer break at Italy's Golf Club Grado
June 14, 2012

Two special summer packages have been launched at one of North Eastern Italy's leading family-friendly golf resorts.

Whether it is a long weekend or a rejuvenating summer holiday for the whole family with golf and a wide selection of other activities, Golf Club Grado, located in the region of Venice, has it all with two new offerings for the 2012 summer season.

For those looking for a long weekend of golf and exercise there is the Short Golf Break Package which includes two rounds on Grado's Championship Course, a three night stay in the Marina Suites overlooking the private yacht harbor, a meal at the gourmet Al Casone restaurant and a bike rental for two days to discover the beauty of the island.

Families looking for a longer break can take advantage of the Summer Golf Break package which offers a seven night stay in the Marina Suites including breakfast with four rounds on the Grado Championship Course, dinner at Al Casone, bike rental for five days and a boat trip in the Grado lagoon.

Ivan Marzola, the owner of Grado Golf Club and the Tenuta Primero Resort said, "We find that many of our clients wish to combine golf with some of the other wonderful activities on offer at Grado and that is particularly the case for families. We have tailored the two new 2012 packages for people who would like to play golf but also keep the family happy.

"The Grado Championship Course is scenic, enjoyable and challenging. It offers some stunning views of the Adriatic and the Laguna di Grado. While you are on the golf course, your family can take advantage of our beautiful private beach, heated swimming pool, rental bike service, the excellent sports facilities or the kids' play areas. They can also get involved in a wide range of activities organised by our kids´ club team."

Grado features a range of accommodation for families. As well as the elegant Marina Suites there are modern, spacious and fully serviced bungalows located in the middle of a beautiful pine forest. The bungalows offer a higher level of privacy for families, including a private garden and sheltered car parking space, and are only a few steps away from the beach.

The 6650 yard, par 72 Grado Championship Course is a true risk and reward test of golf. Making the most of its stunning location it brings water into play on almost every hole. The subtly contoured greens feature some challenging pin positions and the sea breeze often adds to the challenge. Grado´s stunning par 3 first hole boasts an island green which has led to the course being dubbed the "European Sawgrass" by the media.

Work has been carried out over the winter to improve the course drainage and to introduce some new natural features on some holes.  The Grado Pro-Shop has also updated its range which includes the latest collections from: Chervò, Polo Golf by Ralph Lauren, Nike, Footjoy, Ecco and, for the first time, the Under Armour 2012 collection.

Located less than two hours' drive from the magnificent city of Venice, Grado can be easily reached from the UK with a selection of direct flights from the larger UK cities to Venice or Trieste.

The Short Golf Break package is valid from May 1 until November 11, 2012 and the rate per person for a double room starts at GBP 220. The Summer Golf Break package is valid from May 1 to November 11, 2012. The rate per person for a double room starts at GBP 470.
