Victory for Nick Pateman at the fourth Jamega Pro Golf Tour Winter Series event
March 14, 2012

A beautiful sunny day welcomed The Jamega Pro Golf Tour players to Aldwickbury Park Golf Club on Thursday 8 March, along with an equally warm welcome from the Club members. Conditions however proved trickier than initially anticipated for the penultimate Jamega Pro Golf Tour Winter Series tournament, in association with Titleist FootJoy.

It was a home county victory for Red Golf Management's Nick Pateman from Hemel Hempstead, who got off to a flying start with birdies at the first and the third. There was a temporary hitch when Nick dropped a couple of shots at the fifth and ninth holes, but he didn't let this faze him going on to eagle the sixteenth and return to the clubhouse with a 3 under-par score of 68. Nick commented "I played a solid round, drove fairly straight, putted well and just stayed patient, not getting too upset if the ball bobbled off a little." Nick is planning to continue playing on the Jamega tour this year, alongside Europro in the hope to make it onto the European Challenge Tour and towards the end of the year play in the European Tour Qualifying School.

Irish professional Neil O'Briain also had a good start, posting two birdies at the first and second holes and then narrowly missed out on catching Nick, with an unfortunate bogey at seventeen, to finish 2 under-par. Tom Haylock and Luke Joy, who have both been at the top of the leader board during the series, ended the day tied third on a 1 under-par score of 70, together with Graham Povey, Nigel Lane and Martin Sell.

Gary Harris, Co-Founder and Director of the Jamega Pro Golf Tour was very pleased to return to Aldwickbury Park Golf Club and commented "The Jamega Pro Tour looks forward to returning to Aldwickbury Park on 16 July for one of the tour season's two day tournaments."

The final one day Jamega Pro Golf Tour Winter Series tournament is being held at Studley Wood Golf Club, Oxfordshire, on Monday 12 March. Following the Winter Series is the Jamega Spanish Series starting on 21 March until the 30 March 2012 with 3, two day tournaments and the UK main season starts on 16 April at Hatfield London Country Club.
