Las Colinas primed for Q-School
November 7, 2012

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, one of Continental Europe's Top 100 golf courses, located just south of Alicante in the stunning region of Valencia, welcomes golf's rising stars this week as they compete for a place on the European Tour at Qualifying School Stage Two. Following unanimous praise from competitors and tournament organisers following the 2011 staging, competitors will once again pit their skills against the challenging Cabell B. Robinson layout from November 7th - 10th as they strive to achieve their playing privileges for the 2013 season.

This year's tournament features a stellar international line-up packed full of seasoned campaigners looking to work their way back on tour, including 1999 Scottish PGA Champion, Warren Bennett, fellow Englishmen, Robert Dinwiddie and David Griffiths, Swede's Peter Gustafsson and Klas Eriksson and Dane Thomas Nørret. Dutchman Tim Sluiter, last year's winner of Qualifying School Stage Two at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club leads an abundance of aspiring young talent, including LET superstar Carly Booth's brother, Wallace, 2011 US Amateur Champion, Kelly Kraft and Welshman James Frazer, runner-up in the recent European Amateur Championships. With so many talented players on display it promises to be a dramatic weekend of action at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club.

Martin Eastgate, Director of Golf, Las Colinas Golf & Country Club commented; "We are delighted that Tour School has returned to Las Colinas Golf & Country Club and we look forward to showcasing our magnificent facilities to all of the competitors. Our dedicated green-keeping team has been working tirelessly over the past few months to present the course in pristine condition and we expect it to provide a stern, yet enjoyable test for the players. As one of Europe's most talked about new destinations we are primed to host major events with our rental apartments and villas of Las Colinas Residences that the competitors and their families are taking full advantage of this week."

"The team at Las Colinas Golf & Country Club has done a tremendous job in setting up the golf course in immaculate condition ahead of what is sure to be memorable week for both the competitors and spectators alike," noted Mike Stewart, The European Tour's Tournament Director. "Thanks to the mild climate, great feedback from 2011 and the highest standard of facilities and accommodation, the decision to return to Las Colinas Golf & Country Club was obvious and we look forward to another successful week."
