Leeds Golf Club to host SFG Champions Final
February 24, 2012

Single Figure Golfer (SFG) is delighted to announce that the final of the 2012 Challenge Tour, sponsored by Srixon and Cleveland, is to be hosted by the magnificent Leeds Golf Club in Yorkshire on October 22nd.

The fifth annual SFG final sees a change in format from previous years with a new 'winner takes all' final round to decide who will be crowned SFG Champion for 2012.

Over 80 open golf events all over the UK will act as qualifiers for golfers with a handicap of nine or below earn a place at the Champions final.

All who qualify for the SFG Champions final will receive superb prizes donated by sponsors Srixon, Cleveland, Motocaddy, Bushnell, GEL, Loudmouth, Druh Belts and Buckles.

Paul Mawman, Secretary of Leeds Golf Club, said: "We have long been associated with holding The Leeds Cup, the oldest trophy in professional golf. More recently we have been proud to hold many other competitions for high calibre club golfers including being one of the main qualifying events for the SingleFigureGolfer Tour. I am therefore delighted that we should be providing the venue for this year's SFG final and those qualifying can rest assured the course will test all aspects of the players' skills, as it has done for the past hundred years!"

Paul Heming, chief executive of SingleFigureGolfer, said " After listening to feedback from our golfers over the last four years, we have created a new, exciting ' SFG Champions Final' where there are some fantastic prizes to be won. Leeds Golf Club has a strong tradition of proving an outstanding golfing test and, having varied previous finals from heathland to classic links, we have decided to challenge the finalists with one of the best parkland courses in the country.

"I'd also like to add a huge thanks to our sponsors Srixon and Cleveland for continuing to support a unique golfing initiative that has caught the imagination of some remarkable golfers."

Srixon Cleveland's European Marketing Director - Jon Parsons  commented " Srixon is delighted to continue it's involvement with the SFG Tour and to have further opportunity to let single figure golfers try the highly successful range of tour proven Z-STAR golf balls."
