November 16, 2012

Lumine Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community, this week affirmed its growing status as a major force in world golf following its successful staging of the Second Stage of European Tour Qualifying School. The hotly contested four-day competition that sees aspiring young players and veterans fight it out for a place on the main Tour, was played over the resort's immaculately conditioned Greg Norman designed, Lakes Course. Saturday's final round saw Welshman Liam Bond produce a blistering round of 65 to climb to the top of the leaderboard and claim one of the 18 spots through to the final stage at the end of the month.

Bond's total of -17 saw him finish three shots ahead of nearest competitor, England's Paul Maddy who was closely followed by fellow countryman, Lloyd Kennedy. Also advancing to Final Stage is Spain's Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez, Christophe Brazillier from France and Englishman Zane Scotland after a final round of 66.

Calle Carlsson, General Manager of Lumine Golf & Beach Club, part of the Lumine Mediterránea Beach & Golf Community commented; "It is of great significance for us to host such a prestigious event that means so much to all the competitors, as they fight it out for a place on the main Tour.
