Di Dougherty to host Lynx Golf Classic
June 7, 2012

Di Dougherty has announced details of the first of several golf tournaments  to be staged by Lynx Golf - the iconic brand of the '90's that helped to secure major championship wins for Fred Couples and Ernie Els. The former Sky Sports' golden girl, appointed brand ambassador to spearhead the European comeback of Lynx, revealed the details this week of the first event aimed for PGA club professionals.

The Lynx Golf Classic will take place on September 20th , 2012 at Burhill Golf Club hosted by Dougherty and fellow brand ambassador Austin Healey.  Open to PGA club professionals, it offers a staggering prize fund of £10,000, a first prize of £4,000 and free entry for all competitors.

Di Dougherty explains, "Lynx sees the club professional as a vital part of their business expansion.  They believe that club professionals play a central role in sustaining and developing the game of golf and a huge part in getting people started.  As I intend to campaign to get more people to take up the game, it is fitting that this is our first golf tournament."

Joint Managing Director of Lynx, Steve Elford added, "We plan to host a series of golf tournaments over the next eighteen months that demonstrate our commitment to both our business "partners" like golf professionals and our public - club golfers throughout Europe who play with or have a strong affection for our brand. The tournaments are intended to support these all-important relationships while showcasing the qualities that Lynx is known for - technical innovation, performance and ground-breaking designs. "
