With a plethora of championship courses nearby, Monte da Quinta offers the perfect location for a golf trip to the Algarve and the resort has unveiled some eye-catching packages to ensure golfers take their 'A' game to the fairways.

The four-star venue, situated in the heart of the prestigious Quinta do Lago estate, has teamed up with one of the region's top teaching academies to offer a series of discount tuition breaks to guests.

Run in association with PGA professional Peter Lester, visitors can enjoy a three-night stay at Monte da Quinta including three one-hour lessons and two rounds of golf at Vale de Lobo for €483 per person until March 31 and €569 in April and May.

For people seeking a longer stay, a seven-night package including three days' tuition at Lester's Golf School and three rounds of golf at Vale de Lobo can be booked for €775 until the end of March and €969 for the following two months.

All prices are based on two people sharing a one-bedroom suite and include VAT and breakfast, while Monte da Quinta is running a range of flexible packages throughout 2012 to cater for a golfer's every needs including their new Long and Short Drive discount breaks.

From just €389 per person until March 31, golfers can enjoy three nights' accommodation in one of Monte da Quinta's impressive suites, a round of golf on Quinta do Lago's North and Laranjal courses, one evening meal with a complimentary bottle of wine and a free back and shoulder massage in the resort's Magnolia Spa.

In addition, the offer also includes unlimited house wine and beers in Monte da Quinta's bar during Happy Hour each day, one personal trainer session per person and free use of the gym, indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and Turkish bath.

A seven-night break including two rounds of golf with buggy on the North Course and one each on the South and Laranjal - with all the same privileges of the Short Drive package - can be booked from only €99 per person per night until March 31 and €113 per person per night for April, May and September.

Quinta do Lago's golf courses enjoy a rich history, with the South Course having had the privilege of hosting the Portuguese Open eight times while Laranjal was voted the Best Golf Course in Portugal at the 2011 Portugal Travel Awards.
