Tiger up to world no. 4 and equals Nicklaus record
June 4, 2012

Tiger Woods equalled Jack Nicklaus' total of 73 US PGA Tour wins at the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide Insurance where a closing 67 gave him a two stroke victory over Andres Romero and South African Rory Sabbatini. Woods closed his round with three birdies in the final four holes including a spectacular flop shot hole out from the back of the par 3 16th hole. Having won Arnold Palmer's tournament at Bay Hill Woods adds the Jack Nicklaus hosted Memorial Tournament for his second win of 2012. The win takes him to World Number Four, his best World Ranking since 20th February 2011.

Thongchai Jaidee won his first European Tour title outside Asia at the ISPS Handa Wales Open at a wet and windy Celtic Manor Resort. The Thai golfer, who recorded all four of his previous victories on his home continent, closed with a one over par 72 for a six under total and a one stroke victory. Dane Thomas Björn, Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, Dutchman Joost Luiten and South African Richard Sterne finished one shot behind on five under, with Ross Fisher and Paul McGinley two adrift in a tie for sixth. Jaidee moves from World Number 199 to World Number 114.

Yoshinori Fujimoto shot a final round of 68, 3 under par, to win the Japan Golf Tour Championship Citibank Cup Shishido Hills by two strokes from Masamichi Uehira who had a final round 69. Fujimoto's World Ranking improves by 130 positions to 190th.

This week's other winners were James Hahn at the The Rex Hospital Open on the Nationwide Tour, Eduardo de la Riva at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España on the Challenge Tour, Choi Jin-Ho at the 7th Meritz Solmoro Open on the Korean Golf Tour, Marco Ruiz at the Taca Airlines Open on the Tour de las Americas and Jakobus Roos at the Lombard Insurance Classic on the Sunshine Tour.
