Dustin Johnson re-enters world top ten
June 11, 2012

Dustin Johnson won only his second event back from injury at the FedEx St Jude Classic in Memphis. Johnson, whose back injury kept him out of golf for over two months, birdied two of the last three holes for a four under par final round of 66 and a one-stroke victory over compatriot John Merrick, whose chip to force a play-off shaved the hole. In a year of unprecedented activity around the World Top 10, Johnson becomes the seventeenth different player to move into the Top 10 in the 23 weeks of 2012 so far. Johnson rises ten places to regain his World Top 10 status at Number 10.

Lee Westwood won his third Nordea Masters title in resounding fashion with a five shot triumph at Bro Hof Slott. The World Number Three played beautifully from tee to green all week, and could even afford to miss five putts from inside six feet over the first ten holes of his closing 69. Ross Fisher finished in second place, recovering brilliantly with a hattrick of birdies from the 15th having double bogeyed the 13th. Westwood retains his World Number 3 position.

This week's other winners were Lee Williams at the Mexico Open on the Nationwide Tour, Gary Stal at the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda on the Challenge Tour, Andrew Roque at the Times Colonist Island Savings Open on the Canadian Tour and Bryce Easton at the Vodacom Origins - Zebula on the Sunshine Tour.
