Rory McIlroy widens the gap at the top
September 4, 2012

Rory McIlroy overturned a three shot final round deficit to squeeze past South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen and win the Deutsche Bank Championship by one stroke. The World Number One's final round 67 gave him victory with a 20 under par total of 264, just ahead of former Open Champion Oosthuizen who finished with a 71. World Number Three Tiger Woods shot a bogey free final round of 66 to finish in third place.

Richie Ramsay cruised to victory in the Omega European Masters with another masterful performance at Crans-sur-Sierre. After carding six birdies in a bogey free third round, Ramsay secured his second European Tour title in convincing fashion courtesy of a 66 that lifted him to 16 under par. Marcus Fraser, Fredrik Andersson Hed, Romain Wattel and Danny Willett were four shots back in second, they and the rest of the field having been left trailing in the overnight leader’s wake. Ramsay’s previous win came at the South African Open in December 2009 and this win in the Swiss mountains takes him to World Number 68, a jump of 42 places.

K.T. Kim won the Fujisankei Classic on the Japan Golf Tour with a one stroke victory over home favourite Yuta Ikeda, a win that moves him up 15 places to World Number 64.

This week's other winner were Robert Streb at the Mylan Classic on the Web.com Tour, Trevor Fisher-Jr at the Wild Waves Golf Challenge on the Sunshine Tour and Lee Sang-hee at the SBS Happiness KJB The 55th KPGA Championship on the Korean Golf Tour.
