Ramsdale Park Golf Centre Par-3 Club pitch in £1,000 to charity
November 7, 2012

Kind-hearted golfers at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre have come together to raise £1,000 for two local charities.

Golfers from the public pay-and-play centre's Par-3 Club have raised the money through a percentage of weekly match fees, unredeemed prize vouchers, a charity golf day and individual donations. The pot will be split between the Nottinghamshire Hospice and the John Eastwood Hospice.

Kate Purdue, Corporate and Community Fundraiser for the Nottinghamshire Hospice, collected a cheque from Par-3 Club Chairman Richard Hone.

She said: "On behalf of the patients and staff at Nottinghamshire Hospice I'd like to thank the golfers of Ramsdale Park Par-3 Club for all their fundraising efforts throughout the year. It's great to work with local groups such as this who can see the benefit directly in their local community and the donation will do so much for patient care for local people."

The Par-3 Club at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre - part of BGL Golf, the UK's leading golf course owner and operator - meets on Tuesdays for a friendly, informal game of golf on the centre's Lee Course, one of the country's finest short courses. The group meets between 7.30 and 9.30am, and anyone of any age is welcome to join in.

Ash Dilks, Ramsdale Park Golf Centre Assistant General Manager, said: "The Par-3 Club offers golfers young and old the perfect opportunity to enjoy a game of golf in a friendly environment around our picturesque short course. You don't need to be a member of Ramsdale Park to join in and there is always something exciting going on.

"We are extremely proud of the whole group for their fundraising efforts and would like to thank all the golfers in the Par-3 Club for their hard work."
