David Leadbetter to be keynote speaker at The Golf Show 2012
May 8, 2012

The Golf Show 2012 has announced David Leadbetter as the keynote speaker at a Teaching & Coaching Conference, which will form a new part of Europe's leading golf industry trade show and education event.

Leadbetter will be joined by a number of - yet to be announced - renowned coaches for a day long conference discussing everything involved in modern-day coaching from teaching techniques to increasing profitability through lessons.

Staged on the final day of The Golf Show 2012 - to be held at the Harrogate International Centre from October 9-11 - the Teaching & Coaching Conference is open to PGA Professionals from across the globe and will engage delegates by showcasing various teaching techniques as well as how to make coaching more commercial and profitable.

Leadbetter, who runs 28 academies in 13 countries and has coached countless Tour players, including Ernie Els, Greg Norman and Michelle Wie, came to prominence in the 1980s with his work rebuilding the swing of Sir Nick Faldo and coaching him to six Major titles.

Originally from Worthing in Sussex, David began his career in golf on the European and South African Tours. Soon after David retired from playing, he began to incorporate his methods and philosophies into a stringent holistic training program for qualified instructors.

The 59-year-old - who appears at The Golf Show in association with Callaway - will discuss his teaching techniques for all levels of golfer from Tour pros and club golfers through to juniors and will host a question and answer session.

There will be 30 CPD points on offer for PGA Professionals attending the Teaching & Coaching Conference and they will have the opportunity to learn from the very best in the business and interact with likeminded coaches and teachers.

John Davis, The Golf Show 2012, Event Manager, said: "By adding the Teaching & Coaching Conference to The Golf Show, the event now covers every aspect of the modern PGA Professional's business.

"Delegates will have the opportunity to conduct their forward buying with golf's leading suppliers, learn from industry experts in retail and business through our educational seminars and now study some of the world's best coaches to aid the teaching side of their profession."

This year The Golf Show has been moved forward in the calendar to earlier in October, but everything else will remain the same - PGA Professionals will be able to see all the latest products and services available from golf's leading suppliers as well as gain everything they need for the PGA's Member Education Programme.

Delegates will be able to register for The Golf Show through a new-look website at www.golftradeshow.co.uk . Once registered delegates will receive an email with a separate link, which will enable them to book their place at the Teaching & Coaching Conference, at a cost of £25.
