VPAR Pro-Am to be hosted at La Manga
February 3, 2012

Players competing in an exciting new pro-am will have no excuses for being unaware of how they are faring when they take part in the inaugural event at the prestigious La Manga Club in April.

Entries are now being invited for the VPAR Invitational Pro-Am and each team of four will have the benefit of using VPAR's innovative and state-of-the-art golf scoring system during the 36-hole event, which is being staged at the five-star resort from April 26-29.

Using a hand-held scorepad, VPAR's cutting-edge technology will record every shot played and immediately calculate a team's score, as well as displaying and updating all live leaderboards.

And the information is sure to be invaluable, with a prize fund of €5,000 on offer to professionals and prizes for the top three amateur teams worth more than €3,000.

As well as receiving three nights' bed and breakfast at La Manga Club's five-star Principe Felipe Hotel, the teams - made up of one professional and three amateurs - will be entitled to a welcome reception and drinks on arrival, a Galvin Green polo shirt, a Cleveland & Srixon welcome pack and gala dinner on the final night with full drinks package.

Prices for the event, which is being played on the resort's North and West courses, range from £699 per person for amateurs to enter to just £120 per person for professionals, but people are advised to book without delay with places limited to only 20 teams.

Lee Rogers, managing director of leading sports travel agency LSR Sports which is co-organising the pro-am with Luxury Golf & Corporate Events, said: "It's our aim to provide competitors with the best experience possible and using V PA R will further enhance what promises to be a memorable few days at the La Manga Club.

"It's not very often that normal golfers get to encounter the sort of real-time pressure that professionals face every week and the scoring system is sure to add extra excitement for everyone taking part."

La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure venue including three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses, more than 20 bars and restaurants and great fun for children.
