A new golf destination from GTOC

June 10, 2013

GTOC the consortium of seven established UK Golf Tour Operators and Europe's Largest Independent Golf Travel Group is now providing UK golfers with a fantastic choice of golf packages to the stunning region of Pau-Pyrenees in the Southwest of France.

With weekly flights from London City Airport to Pau Pyrenees Airport, a choice of quality golf courses and 3 and 5-Star accommodation options, Pau is set to become a popular golfing destination in the years to come.

The region of Pau-Pyrenees combines a depth of culture and charm with a modern infrastructure to offer an outstanding quality of life and an unforgettable experience for those lucky enough to visit.

Boasting an affluent British heritage, Pau is marked by a rich history and sport forms a key part of life in the town. Pau Golf Club was officially founded in 1856, becoming the oldest golf club in continental Europe. The Old Course is an 18 hole, par 69 which plays 5312 meters and is just a 5 minute drive from the Town Centre. The clubhouse was built in 1880 around a Bearnaise farm and maintains its old charm, combining modern and functional aspects while maintaining its enviable character. Its typically British atmosphere emanates from the committee room, the bar and restaurant making it privileged, convivial and cordial.

At the foot of the Pyrenees and just a 15 minute drive from Pau, the spectacular Artiguelouve golf course offers unrestricted views of the mountain range. The beautiful natural setting, marked out by water and palm trees, measures 5639 meters, playing as a par 70 that provides a challenge for any golfer, beginner or experienced. Spectacular scenery is guaranteed.

Just a 30 minute drive from Pau you will find the picturesque Lourdes Pyrénées Golf Club in a majestic location on the South side of the Lourdes Lake overlooking the clear water of the glacial lake and the imposing presence of the Pyrenees. This 18-hole, par 72 golf course is 5600 meters long and a great test for all golfers.

A golfing holiday to Pau can be booked direct with all GTOC Tour Operators. The seven members of GTOC are Driveline Golf, Exclusive Golf, Golf Escapes, A Golfing Experience, Golf Amigos, Leisure Link and Premier Iberian.

GTOC continues to provide brands and organisations with highly targeted sales and marketing opportunities to communicate with over 250,000 golfers who actively play the game and who regularly purchase golf holidays and other golf related products and services. GTOC's portfolio of sales and marketing formats includes advertising on the seven member websites, email newsletters, database marketing and event marketing with numerous golf events staged each year in the UK and Europe.
