IGTM 2013 to welcome first time exhibitors from around the world

October 9, 2013

International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) has announced a number of first time exhibitors from across the world for the 2013 edition of the industry leading golf travel trade show.

The premier global event for golf tourism is taking place at the PortAventura Convention Centre, Costa Daurada, Spain, November 11-14, 2013.

Peter Grimster, IGTM Exhibition Manager, said: "The support of world-class destinations from every corner of the golfing globe ensures IGTM remains an important golf tourism event for both delegates and exhibitors. Bringing the global golf travel trade together in one place creates a unique opportunity to generate new business and develop existing relationships."

Among the first time exhibitors at IGTM this year are Australia and New Zealand.

Elizabeth Sattler, Director of Great Golf Courses of Australia, said: "Given the industry feedback around the event and the impressive list of buyers attending the show, we are very excited to be involved in the show and are looking forward to the opportunities it presents."

Tourism New Zealand will also be exhibiting at IGTM for the first time. In May 2013, a new working group was tasked with developing a long-term strategy for golf tourism, designed to attract high-value visitors to the country.

There is also first-time representation from Latin America in the form of Costa Rica. Daniel Küng, Costa Rica ARA Tours Manager, said: "IGTM is one of the most important gateways to international golfers, and we are very much looking forward to presenting Costa Rica as a new, engaging golf destination."

Joining the prominent Latin America contingent are Chile, Mexico, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Argentina.

Belen Rodriquez, Coordinator of Polo & Golf at the Argentina National Institute of Tourism Promotion, said: "We will be supporting this year's IGTM, confirming the importance this show has in communicating our golf products and regions. Argentina's magnificent landscapes feature some 250 golf courses throughout the country and we are exhibiting at IGTM to enable tour operators to gain a better understanding of golf in Argentina."

Malaysian Golf Tourism Alliance joins the Asian exhibitors at the event, while the Egyptian Tourist Authority returns to IGTM with the support of more than 10 of its partners.

More than 100 resorts, clubs and tourist boards from the host nation, Spain, will also be exhibiting, showcasing the country's finest golf spots including host destination Catalonia, as well as Andalucía and the Balearic and Canary Islands.
