Record performance from Lumine Golf Club

August 23, 2013

Lumine Golf Club is quickly demonstrating the reason it is becoming known as Europe's most inspiring new golf resort, with the recent announcement from Senior Management that the resort is out performing its forecasted rate of uptake from core European Golf target markets. On the back of an impressive 2012, the experience being offered at the Costa Dorada attraction is striking the right chord with the traditionally strong market s, including steadily growing interest from British golfers seeking the sun.

Increased Year-on-Year (YOY) international tour operator rounds up, 254% for same period (Jan - June) has propelled Lumine Golf Club into the spotlight as one of Europe's major golf and leisure tourism players. Moreover positive growth in rounds played is a further feat, given the European market is arguably down between 10 - 15% YOY.

One of Lumine Golf Club 's most appealing assets is its multidimensional ity.

"We have such a diverse product to shout about," commented General Manager Calle Carlsson. "The reason our packages are gaining traction is the additional leisure experiences on top of the 45 holes of world class golf, that allow guests to tailor-make their holiday . It is a tough time in the golf travel market, but we remain focussed on presenting consistently world-class conditioned courses and on experience and value for money for all those who visit."

Affording an enriched golf holiday experience, the array of attractions in the surrounding region are a key player in Lumine's ever-growing reputation. In addition to the comprehensive golf offering and world class facilities, guests have various hotel options surrounding the ocean-flanked Troon-managed resort. Visitors to the region are treated to the acclaimed Lumine Beach Club affording the perfect après golf relaxation, to stunning Mediterranean cuisine as well as wine-tasting in the distinguished Priorat wine region. For the thrill seekers, one of Europe's biggest theme parks - PortAventura - lies within the resort, whilst nearby Salou boasts some of the country's most renowned dance venues, regularly graced by internationally renowned DJs.

"Today's announcement is further testament to the vision of the owners to create something that will attract visitors not only from Spain, but Europe wide. We couldn't have hoped for a better reaction and we are encouraged by the direction of the business," continued Carlsson.

Located within 170 acres, Lumine Golf Club also includes the more traditional Hills Course, a second 18-hole championship course that runs through pine and olive trees with spectacular views of the nearby coastline. The aptly named 9-hole Ruins Course, another Norman design, weaves its way through Roman archaeological remains from the second century and completes a diverse 45-hole offering of immaculately presented golf that caters for golfers of all ages and abilities. In close proximity to two international airports at Barcelona and Reus, Lumine Golf Club is the all-encompassing leisure attraction.
