Peter Fowler to headline Heritage Resorts' December Tour Master Class in Mauritius

October 17, 2013

Respected Australian golfer Peter Fowler, winner of the 1993 BWM Championship, the 1989 World Cup of Golf and the 2011 European Senior Tour money list, has been announced as the headline  professional for Heritage Resorts' December golf Tour Master Class in Mauritius. The academy is scheduled for 2nd -9th December 2013, with further dates planned for 2014.

Participants in this innovative and exciting new golf academy will be able to play and practise with Fowler, learning some of his tour secrets along the way. The course will consist of 4-5 hours of tuition and play per day, starting early before the full heat of the day so that golfers have ample time to enjoy the many other attractions offered at Heritage Resorts with their families.

Chris Moody, Founder of Tour Master Classes, is delighted Fowler will be headlining the week, commenting: "Peter has been an outstanding golf professional for over 20 years, and is one of Australia's longest golfing servants. His skill and experience, combined with his passion for the game, means he will make an excellent coach for those looking to get to the next level in their game."

Designed to provide amateur golfers with essential skills such as preparation, course management and short game techniques, Tour Master Classes demonstrate and teach the skills that every handicap player can learn, but are seldom taught.

Taking place at Heritage Golf Club, twice winner of "Best Golf Resort in Mauritius" at the World Travel Awards, the Peter Matkovich designed championship 18 hole course covers over 100 acres of tropical terrain, with natural ponds, lakes and palm trees dominating the fairways. Golfers are flanked by panoramic views of crystal clear lagoons to one side of the course, and rugged mountains to the other, making for a truly remarkable golfing experience.

The cost of the course is £1,500, and includes five days tuition and all green fees.

Situated in the breath-taking Domaine de Bel Ombre in the south of the island, Heritage Resorts offers a three luxury accommodation options for participants on the course at Heritage Le Telfair, Heritage Awali and Heritage the Villas.

Nature and wildlife enthusiasts will find sanctuary at the Domaine's 2.500 hectare Frédérica Nature Reserve, which is the island's first wildlife area protected by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. The reserve extends from sea level to 400 metres altitude and is home to an abundance of endemic wildlife that is unique to Mauritius.  Land based activities such as mountain biking, a 4x4 experience or quad bike adventures are also available.

Those looking for a break from the golf course can relax at Heritage Le Telfair's luxurious Seven Colours Spa, which offers signature treatments amidst a luscious, tropical environment. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of world class kite-surfing conditions at the C Beach Club, or choose from a wide range of water sports, making the resort the ideal choice for active holidays, wellbeing and nature pursuits.
