Oceânico voted best course in Portugal again

February 18, 2013

Oceânico Golf is delighted to announce that its renowned Old Course has been awarded the 'Best Course in Portugal' crown for the second successive year, following the recent publication of the prestigious annual Todays Golfer Travel Awards. Voted for exclusively by readers of the UK's #1 golf publication, these awards highlight the facilities around Europe that continue to excel at the very highest echelons of the travel industry, providing golfers with the very highest standards of course conditioning, service and hospitality.

Following the announcement, Chris Stilwell, CEO of Oceânico Golf commented: "To win this award for a second successive year is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work of the entire team here at Oceânico Golf. 2012 has been a stellar year for Oceânico Golf and especially the Old Course as golfers continue to flock to a classic layout that is maintained in pristine condition all-year-round. We fully acknowledge that we are up against some strong competition in this category, so to claim this accolade once again is a clear indicator that the Oceânico Old Course remains a firm favorite amongst international golfers."

The award-winning Par 73, 6254m Oceânico Old Course, in the heart of Vilamoura, is one of the oldest in the region and renowned all over the world. Revered as the Grande Dame of Algarve courses, the Frank Pennick parkland layout meanders through pine trees, over gently undulating natural terrain to provide golfers with a thoroughly enjoyable and challenging experience.

In addition to Portugal's number one course, the Oceânico Golf portfolio offers six further championship courses in the Algarve, including - Oceânico Victoria (host of the Portugal Masters since 2007), Oceânico Pinhal, Oceanico Laguna, Oceânico Millennium in Vilamoura and the newest near Silves, Oceânico Faldo Course and Oceânico O´Connor Jnr. course at Amendoeira Golf Resort, complemented by the unique floodlit 9 hole par 3 Oceânico Academy course.

Oceânico Group is set to showcase its first-rate facilities throughout a full calendar of events in 2013, including the 2013 Portugal Masters, Oceânico World Kids Golf Championship and the XXVI Grande Troféu Vilamoura 2013.
