Adam Scott reaches No. 3 spot with Masters playoff victory

April 15, 2013

Adam Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters Tournament after dramatically overcoming Angel Cabrera to win his first Major Championship. Both players made superb birdie threes at the 72nd hole to finish on 9 under par then a birdie on the second extra hole for Scott secured victory. Scott climbs 4 places to World Number 3 while Cabrera takes a jump from 269th to 64th.

Alex Aragon fired a 6-under 66 and came from five shots back in the final round to win the WNB Golf Classic and collect 14 points to see him at 280th on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Lin Wen-tang of Chinese Taipei lived up to his billing as the ‘Linsanity of Golf’, when he produced a heroic performance to win his long-awaited sixth Asian Tour title at the Solaire Open on Sunday. Lin hit two remarkable shots on 17 and 18 from the woods for a one-over-par 73 to defeat Asian Tour rookie Richard T. Lee of Canada and Thammanoon Sriroj of Thailand by one stroke at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.

Grant Jackson of England landed his first Asian Development Tour title after defeating local hope R. Nachimuthu and Wolmer Murillo of Venezuela by four shots at the PGM Maybank Johor Masters on Saturday.
Jackson posted a final round one-under-par 71 which was enough to earn his first victory this season after coming close on several occasions. He capitalized on his course record of 64 in the penultimate round for a winning total of 17-under-par 271 at the Johor Country Club.
