Major investment in Rockliffe Hall Golf Club to help players improve their game

June 4, 2013

Rockliffe Hall's prestigious golf club has become a Cleveland Golf and Srixon Centre of Excellence to offer an advanced custom-fitting service for players of all levels.

The purpose built, state-of-the-art Cleveland Golf Fitting Cart provides a technology-driven fitting service with specially trained technicians and is the only one in the North of England. Cleveland Golf and Srixon have invested thousands of pounds to install the new technology at Rockliffe Hall in Hurworth, near Darlington.

Fitting sessions are tailored to each individual golfer's requirements to help improve various aspects such as accuracy, distance or spin control. The new technology can also analyse swing speed and launch angles. The fitting carts are stocked with Cleveland Golf 588 Altitude, MT and TT Irons as well as the Custom Classic Driver and 588 RTX wedges range. Cleveland Golf is currently the only manufacturer to carry wedges as part of their custom fit cart.

The Cleveland Golf Fitting Cart at Rockliffe Hall contains hundreds of different combinations to achieve every golfer's perfect set of clubs with 16 Iron Heads, 10 Wedge Heads and four Driver Heads as well as 22 Iron Shafts, six Wedge Shafts and 12 Driver Shafts offering golfers the most comprehensive custom fit in the industry.

Anyone fitted for the new Cleveland Golf 588 irons range has the option to tailor their perfect set of irons to match their player with the right shafts and grips at no additional cost. Each head type in the range offers a forgiving feel with differing flight patterns.

Those struggling with their longer irons will benefit from the 588 Altitude, while the better player will look towards the performance benefits of the 588 TT (Tour Trajectory), which offers a lower, penetrating ball flight. Mid-handicappers may end up comprising their set from all three head types, with performance benefits for all types of golfer in each head type.

Golfers will also have the option to be fitted for the correct golf ball for their game with Srixon, the UK's number one 2-piece ball brand. Whether opting for the premium Z-STAR range or Srixon's 2-piece golf ball range, an expert technician will make sure the ball is suited to an individual's game to help lower scores.

Rockliffe Hall will now also provide a full range of off-the-shelf and bespoke hardware from driver, through fairways and hybrids, to irons and wedges.

Rockliffe Hall's world-class golf course is recognised as one of the best in the UK and was strategically designed by top golf architect, Marc Westonborg from Hawtrees. Thanks to its engineering and construction, the course remains open all year round and benefits from no winter greens.

The course is home to a variety of high profile golf tournaments and has this year been selected as the host venue for one of the UK's most prestigious, televised amateur tournaments, the William Hunt Trilby Tour Grand Final on Wednesday August 28 th . In addition, Rockliffe Hall hosts events and golf days for football clubs, businesses and charities such as Daisychain, the Butterwick Hospice and the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

As well as holding high profile tournaments, Rockliffe Hall is also home to a highly-regarded golf academy, offering coaching from respected PGA golf professionals, and the popular Northern Golf Masters tournament to find the best amateur golfer in the UK.

Head PGA professional at Rockliffe Hall, Jon Stacey, said: "The Cleveland Golf Fitting Cart is an exceptional piece of technology for golfers. We are really pleased to have the company on board with us as it now means we can offer golfers of all abilities- from new starters to pros- a superb fitting service. It's a major investment from such a leading brand and we're looking forward to working in partnership in the coming months."

Cleveland Golf is one of the world's leading golf equipment brands with a reputation spanning over 30 years.
