Chris Evans' Super Swing raises £126,500 for BBC Children in Need

July 3, 2013

The lucky winners of the fantastic Super Swing package from November's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show auction for BBC Children in Need have taken up their prize.

The Super Swing package raised a fantastic £126,500 - every penny of which has gone on to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

The week's festivities kicked off with a fantastic meal at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel followed by a luxurious overnight stay.  The next morning they were given the chance to sit in on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show, to see the man himself in action.

The group were then given a warm up round of golf at Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire before the big day at Wentworth Golf Club where they were met by Chris Evans and Graeme McDowell making up the 2 x 4 ball teams.

The winners were also treated to dinner at The Royal Oak, courtesy of Sir Michael Parkinson, a full season ticket for Wentworth Golf Club and weekend BMW Pavilion Hospitality.

Chris Evans was delighted with the success of the auction package, saying " BBC Children in Need is a fantastic cause which makes a difference to the lives of thousands of children here in the UK. I am delighted that this auction package was so enjoyed by the generous bidders, and am thrilled with the amount it raised for such a worthwhile charity.  Graeme
