Play Thurlestone at the weekend

November 14, 2013

Thurlestone welcomes Groups and Societies at any time and especially on Fridays , Saturdays, and Sundays when the course is traditionally quieter. - most unusual for the majority of courses.

The introduction of a new website tee booking system earlier this year has - General Manager Steve Gledhill commented  "been eagerly taken up by Visitors to our superb golf course. The Club has recorded record green fees in 2013 due to our location as the most southerly golf course in Devon, the magnificent presentation of the course and not least the new tee booking system. Tee - times can now be booked at any time, day or night, via the website - wwwthurlestongolfclub.co.uk - and visitors can immediately see when the course is free for them to play. Rather than the old Ball-Shute system Visitors and Members now have a confirmed tee - time allowing them to plan their day better."

Thurlestone, a Harry S Colt designed course, has been described as reminding Peter Alliss of Pebble Beach with spectacular views from all holes, over-looking Bigbury Bay, Burgh Island and down the rugged Devon and Cornwall coastline. A mixture of links and cliff-top terrain gives a free draining course that is rarely closed backed up by a friendly club house providing that all-important bite to eat and ice-cold beer afterwards. Steve said "Our Executive Chef can devise a menu to suit all groups and societies."
