Zane Scotland dominating MENA Golf Tour

October 24, 2013

Zane Scotland has dominated the 2013 MENA Golf tour so far this year, earning his fourth victory today at the Ras Al Khaimah Classic at the Tower Links Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates.

Scotland went into the final round today tied for fifth and five shots off the leader. Currently in the best form of his career, the Englishman felt confident that he could turn this around.

However it wasn't until the back nine, that he took control. The 31-year-old had some astounding holes, quickly scoring six birdies and never dropping a shot. Scotland found himself taking a very risky shot on the 18 th , which paid off and he closed the day with a 67 for a total of nine-under par 207, one ahead of overnight leader David Law.

"To be honest I surprised myself with the result," said Scotland, who has now won four of of the six events on the MENA Golf Tour this year. "I played pretty aggressively on the back nine and count myself lucky for holing some clutch putts. I took a big risk on the closing 18 th hole, hitting my approach from behind the trees. Luckily, it landed on the green and I two putted for a birdie, which, in the end, made the difference."

Scotland, who continues his lead on the Order of Merit, will look to take a third consecutive title at the Abu Dhabi GOLF CITIZEN Open next week, October 21-23, 2013.
