Join Over 300 Golf Clubs by Donating a Fourball to Support Our Injured Troops

2014 is a landmark year for the British Armed Forces as they officially withdraw from one of the bloodiest assignments they have encountered in recent times. It's the aim of the NGCC online charity auction to mark this event by having as many golf clubs as possible up and down the UK show their support by way of donating a fourball.

Over 300 clubs have already donated a fourball, including Wentworth, Turnberry, St. Andrews, The Centurion Club, St. Mellion, Trump International Golf Links, Royal Porthcawl and Kingsbarns Links.

Each donated fourball will serve two purposes; one, to help raise funds by being auctioned off at www.ngccauction.com , and two as a tribute to our Armed Forces in recognition of the sacrifices they make in serving our country - a collective show of support to our troops from the Great British Golfing Community.

The funds raised in the NGCC auction will be donated to Help for Heroes, who continue to provide comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country.

Later in the year the NGCC team will share the list of clubs who have donated a fourball with Lt Col. Crew, who heads up the Battle Back Golf programme. The goal will be to pass on a huge list of the UK golf clubs that have united in 2014 to whole heartedly say "thank you" together, a wonderful message to pass on to all our Armed Forces.

You can donate a fourball by going to www.ngccauction.com . Or email your fourball donation to Event Director Stacey Jeffries at stacey [at] nationalgolfclubchallenge.com.

Additionally, the NGCC team are inviting golf clubs throughout the UK to take part in the 2014 National Golf Club Challenge in May, June or July - the UK's biggest amateur charity golf tournament which also supports Help for Heroes.

There is no registration fee for golf clubs to take part in the National Golf Club Challenge; the only requirement is to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes while running a qualifier event. Golfers from each club have the chance to progress to Regional Semi Finals and a National Final at the fabulous Turnberry Resort in Scotland.

Golf Clubs can register to take part in the 2014 National Golf Club Challenge at www.2014ngcc.com .
