Players Tour - The Season Ahead

February 3, 2014

To an outsider, being a touring golf professional is the perfect life and although that may be the case for the top players in the world, the majority of aspiring professional golfers are still trying to achieve the dream and make to the very top level.

For those that are still trying to reach those heights, The Players Tour offers aspiring and current touring pros the opportunity of competing, on the UK's finest championship and classic Top 100 courses, whilst competing for great prize money, amazing sponsors prizes and unique career based incentives.

Having successfully launched at London Golf Club in 2012 and having completed its first full season in 2013, The Players Tour is a Professional Golf Tour that dares to be different.

Playing in multi day tournaments can be an expensive turnout for young up and coming professionals, so to keep travelling expenses down to a minimum for its players, all events on The Players Tour are exciting one day events played over 18 and 36 holes with a line up of courses that are second to none.

With numerous members having picked up their first wins as professionals on the tour in 2013 including Colton Alleyne-Davis, Daniel Bennett, James Doswell, Ray Hallett and David Rickwood, The Players Tour is already being seen as a breeding ground for new, up and coming talent and having already visited numerous Top 100 courses throughout its opening season in 2013, 2014 will hit the ground running with host venues including Princes, Hindhead, London Club, Woburn, The Buckinghamshire, Moor Park, Woburn, Hollinwell, The Addington, Goodwood, Frilford Heath, North Hants, East Berkshire, Porters Park and Hadley Wood among others.

With £50,000 worth of Prize Money won by it's players in 2013, the forthcoming 2014 season is set to be bigger and better than ever, with many of the games biggest golf brands on board supporting and sponsoring the tour including Vega Golf, Motocaddy, Nippon, Nikon, G/FORE, Radius Putters among others.

In addition to potential fortnightly tournament prizes funds of £6,000, The Players Tour also has several season long Order of Merit competitions in place with additional bonus prizes and career based incentives worth £22,000 to be won!!

There is also a season long Professional Matchplay Championship exclusively sponsored by G/FORE with prizes up for grabs including an all expenses paid Grand Final weekend at Woburn for the final four players, a lucrative finalists prize fund and a Shoe & Glove contract with G/FORE for the winner.

If you enter the G/FORE Professional Matchplay Championship you will also receive FREE 2014 Tour Membership!!!

Alternatively, Tour Membership which is open to all PGA Professionals and declared Professionals is £100 for the 2014 season. Tournament entry fees start at £175.

Also launching in 2014 and running alongside the Professional Tour, is an exciting Amateur Tour created especially for Single Figure Handicap Golfers . These events will be played on the same days, on the same world class courses, with same course set up and off the same tees - and will give the Amateurs the opportunity to test themselves against the Pros, whilst playing in their own unique event.

The Players Tour 2014 season begins with a unique 27 hole event on all three loops of nine on the world class Sandwich links at Princes Golf Club on 13 th March, followed by Hindhead Golf Club in Surrey (20 th March) and European Tour venue, London Golf Club in Kent on 31 st March. Entry is now open to Professionals and Amateurs for all three events.
