Royal Dornoch Golf Club team up with BMW

May 22, 2014

Officials at the world renowned club have been given use of a 520d M Sport Touring for the rest of the season, courtesy of Calterdon, the Inverness BMW dealer.

The car, which has the famous Royal Dornoch wildcat crest on each side, will be used to take club representatives to competitions and for other official business around the country.

It was presented to Neil Hampton, the club's general manager, by Barrie McDonald, senior sales executive at Calterdon. The firm is to sponsor a junior competition and will hold a display of cars at the club during the week of the Carnegie Shield in August.

Neil Hampton said: "We are very grateful to Calterdon for this generous offer. The club is delighted to be associated with such a high level brand and, as it's the nearest BMW dealer to Dornoch, it fits with our policy of working with the community and supporting Highland businesses."

Barrie McDonald added: "BMW and Royal Dornoch Golf Club are two blue chip brands and it makes sense to work together in a way that can be mutually beneficial."

Royal Dornoch's Championship Course was voted the 6th best golf course in the world this year by Golf Digest. In 2016 the club will mark 400 years of golf being played on the town's famous links.
