Tiger Woods 20/1 for The Open

July 16, 2014

Bookmakers William Hill are offering 20/1 that Tiger Woods wins this year's Open championship - which is, astonishingly, the biggest price the bookmakers have offered for Tiger to win a major since he turned professional in August 1996. Tiger is 11/4 to miss the cut this week.

"20/1 is an astonishing price for Tiger in a major at a course he has won on - but despite the price he is almost friendless with the biggest bet so far just £500," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

Adam Scott is the new joint 14/1 favourite alongside Justin Rose after a £10,000 bet was placed on the Australian today. Rory Mcllroy is certainly not out of it and can be backed at 16/1 with Jordan Spieth a popular choice at 28/1.
