Bubba Watson wins with Titleist, again

February 23, 2016

Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Bubba Watson secured his second Northern Trust Open title in three years with a one shot victory ahead of a leaderboard packed with players trusting Titleist golf balls. It marked Watson's ninth career PGA Tour title, as he closed with a final round 68 en route to a 15-under par, 269 victory total at Riviera Country Club. The victory headlines a three-win weekend for the #1 Ball in Golf as there were further victories for Titleist golf ball loyalists on the South Africa Tour and LPGA Tour respectively.

Watson finished one stroke clear of Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott (Pro V1) and fellow Pro V1x loyalist Jason Kokrak in second place, as six of the top 10 finishers trusted a Titleist golf ball for their success at the event. This included Pro V1x loyalists Chez Reavie in seventh, Sung Kang in tied eight, and Ryan Moore who finished in tenth. This win was the eighth of the season for Titleist golf ball loyalists, twice the nearest competitor with four.

As well as being the choice of the champion, Titleist golf balls were also the overwhelming choice of the field with 94 of the 144-player field trusting a Pro V1 or Pro V1x, more than six times the nearest competitor with 15. Titleist also led the equipment counts for iron sets (42), wedges (176) and putters (65) at the tournament.

Elsewhere on the South African Tour, Titleist Brand Ambassador George Coetzee (Pro V1x) claimed the Dimension Data Pro-Am, his eighth career victory. Coetzee finished with a blistering birdie, birdie, eagle charge over the final three holes to take home the title by one shot. He topped a Titleist 1-2-3 at the event, which also included Titleist Pro V1x loyalists Ross McGowan and Darren Fichardt who finished in a tie for third at 18-under par.

On the LPGA Tour, Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Haru Nomura fired an impressive final found 65, the lowest of the day, to take home the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open. The scorching finish included five birdies on the back nine to secure the first LPGA Tour win for the Japanese born, 23-year old.

Following an impressive ninth career victory for Titleist Pro V1x loyalist Bubba Watson on the PGA Tour, coupled with further wins for golf ball loyalists across the globe, once again continues to prove that the world's best golfers trust the superior performance of Titleist for their success.
