Roger
Chapman, the 40-year-old from Kent who ended a 19-year wait for victory on the
European tour, has been named the tour's Asprey and Garrard Golfer of the Month
for March.
Chapman,
a runner-up on six occasions, was playing his 472nd event when he beat Padraig Harrington in a play-off at the Brazil Rio de Janeiro 500 Years Open.
"It
gave me the best feeling in the world," he said. It was everything I thought
it would be and more... just amazing after 19 years on the tour."
The
Golfer of the Month award earned £1,000 for the Golf Foundation.
