Clarke enters world top 10 for first time

Darren Clarke brokeintothe top-10thisweek in the latest World Golf Ranking, joining other British players Lee Westwood and Colin Montgomerie. Tiger Woods still is far ahead of Ernie Els and David Duval as he defends his title this week at the Tour Championship.

Hal Sutton jumped onespottoseventhwhileDavisLoveIII droppedtoeighth.Jesper Parnevik held on to the ninth as he makes his return the Tour this week after being sidelined with a hip injury.

Clarke moved up one to the 10th spot and TomLehmanalsomoved oneplaceto 11th. Reigning Masters champion Vijay Singh dropped two notches to 12th.

Nick Price, Sergio Garcia and Jim Furyk remained 13th,14thand 15th this week.

Denmark's Thomas Bjorn climbed one to 16thdespitemissingthe cut at the Italian Open this past weekend. Michael Campbell jumped two to 17th. Justin Leonard held on the 18th place.

Stewart Cink moved up one to number-19whileJohnHustonfell four places to 20th.

Duffy Waldorf held off Woods and Steve Flesch to win the National CarRentalClassiconSunday. With the victory, Waldorf flew up 26 spots to 39th.
