Faldo ready to end feud with Mark James

Nick Faldo insists his much-publicised row with 1999 Ryder Cup captain Mark James is over.

"There's nothing going to be achieved by anything now. He knows my feelings." the six times major champion said on the eve of the Lancome Trophy.

The pair had been at loggerheads since James suggested in his book ~Into the Bear Pit~ that Faldo, who did not make the team, had undermined Europe's Ryder Cup bid.

James resigned as joint vice-captain of the 2001 cup team last month.

"If he (James) wants to have a chat then he knows where to find me,~ said Faldo.

"I'll see what he's got to say about why and what and all that sort of thing, but I'm not worried. It's all done and dusted and we need to move on now.

"I'vehad a lot more support from the public, media and players than he did."

Faldo, joint sixth at the European Masters in Switzerland on Sunday, wants to maintain his bid for an automatic cup qualifying place on the St Nom-La-Breteche course.

"The Ryder Cup's a big incentive. My wedge shots let me down last week, so I've been working hard on the short-game since last Sunday.

"It seems to have improved but then it's dead easy to get it right on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. You've got to do it for the rest of the week."
